An AI client for brains that context-switch

Most AI chat apps have one output format: a wall of text. If your brain happily parses dense paragraphs, that's fine. If you have ADHD, are Autistic, or just live a life with interruptions in it, a wall of text is where good answers go to be forgotten.

We built Ethyx around a different assumption: the structure of an answer matters as much as its content. Not as a clinical claim—we're a chat client, not a treatment—but as plain interface design for how people actually read, plan, and resume work.

Cognitive formats change how replies are structured—not their tone or length. Set a default in Preferences, or override it per project:

• Timeline merges messy multi-part answers into one ordered sequence. Three recipes with interleaved steps become a single cook-through timeline.
• Checklist breaks tasks into steps you can actually check off—more on that below.
• Step-by-step keeps everything on one scannable screen, one action at a time.

Checklists that remember

Ethyx checklists are interactive, not decorative markdown. Check items off as you go and the state persists—leave, come back tomorrow, and your progress is exactly where you left it. For items with a time and place, you can send them straight to Google Calendar from the chat. Ethyx only creates events you ask for; it never edits or deletes existing ones.

This is the difference between an AI that describes a plan and one that helps you execute it across the several sittings real plans actually take.

"While you were away"

Context-switching costs are asymmetric: leaving a conversation is free, re-entering costs twenty minutes of "wait, where was I?" When you return to a conversation after time away, Ethyx shows a recap of where you left off, so re-entry costs seconds instead.

Combined with projects (group related conversations, give each project its own instructions and style), the workspace is built so that being interrupted—by a meeting, a kid, or your own brain—doesn't mean starting over.

Small things that add up

• Adjustable text size and typing speed (display only—slow the stream down if fast-scrolling text is hostile to read).
• Response length and personality defaults, so you're not re-prompting "be brief" forever.
• Keyboard support, semantic structure, and reduced-motion support throughout—we hold new UI to WCAG 2.2 AA and lint for it in CI.

Built for all minds

None of this is gated behind a special "accessibility mode." Cognitive formats, checklists, and recaps are just how Ethyx works, because executive-function-friendly design turns out to be good design for everyone who is busy, tired, or interrupted—which is everyone.

If your current AI tool makes you do the work of restructuring its answers into something usable, that's a sign the tool is shaped for the model's convenience, not yours.
