Ethyx v1.2: Subscriptions, promo codes, and Google Drive

v1.2 was a positioning shift: Ethyx subscription access replaces bring-your-own-key in the product story, with closed-test billing and Google Drive as the headline integrations. As of v1.2.11, this line also includes substantial patch improvements on top of the v1.2.0 scope.

What we accomplished in v1.2.0

• One-time registration promo codes—operators generate and audit codes in Filament; a successful redemption grants AI access during closed test without sharing a single global invite string.
• Closed-test billing—Stripe subscription checkout sits behind feature flags, with webhooks as the source of truth for who has active access.
• Google Drive integration—connect Google from Account Integrations, import files into the chat upload pipeline, and export artifacts to a folder you choose.
• Subscription-first AI access—subscribed users run on operator-managed upstream keys; BYOK is retired from product positioning (legacy credential storage remains in the codebase for migration).
• Release hardening—v1.1 accessibility sign-off carried forward, a 1366×768 desktop composer layout target, and personal-details backfill ahead of stricter database constraints.

Highlights across v1.2.1–v1.2.11

Patch releases on the v1.2 line added capabilities many users rely on today, including:

• Hosted share links for completed assistant turns and generated images
• Conversation and message export (PDF, Markdown, plain text, and social-ready JPEG)
• Chat style preferences—response length, AI personality, and search speed—with per-conversation composer persistence
• Background chat turns with SSE tail streaming and poll fallback for reconnect-friendly UX
• Response timing diagnostics on assistant messages when usage statistics are enabled in Preferences

What stayed out of scope

Billing remains closed test until we flip public checkout flags. Native mobile, SMS OTP, teams, and multi-provider cloud storage (beyond Google) are still deferred. Google Docs and Sheets native export is partial—see our v1.3 plans for deeper Drive work.
